Temple of the Sleeping Buddha (Beijing)
The Shifangpujue Temple ( 十 方 普 觉 寺 , Shífāng pǔjué sì ) or Wofo Temple or Temple of the Sleeping Buddha ( Chinese 卧佛寺 / 卧佛寺 , Pinyin Wòfó Sì ) is a Buddhist temple in the Beijing Botanical Garden , about twenty kilometers from the center. The temple is known for its large bronze statue of the Sleeping Buddha from 1321, which is why it is popularly called the Temple of the Sleeping Buddha .
The temple has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-205) since 2001 .
