The 66th Paris – Nice cycle race took place from March 9th to 16th, 2008. It was held in a prologue and seven stages over a distance of 1,137.6 kilometers. The famous ascent to Mont Ventoux was completed on the fourth stage .

For the first time since 2005, the 66th edition was not part of the UCI ProTour since its inception . The organizer ASO excluded his races from the racing series after the dispute with the UCI .

The start of the first stage was moved from Amilly to La Chapelotte due to heavy rainfall, which shortened the stage from 184.5 to 93.5 km.
