The 73rd Tour de Suisse took place from June 13 to 21, 2009. The stage cycle race consisted of nine stages and was part of the UCI ProTour 2009 racing series . The tour started in Mauren, Liechtenstein, and ended in Bern . The total distance was 1355 km. With Fabian Cancellara , a Swiss won the national tour for the first time since 2002 .

Participating teams

All 18 UCI Protour and 2 Professional Continental Teams were invited to the Tour de Suisse 2009. The wildcards were given to the Cervélo TestTeam and Vorarlberg-Corratec .
