The 11th Tour de Suisse took place from August 16 to 23, 1947. It led over seven stages and a total distance of 1,612.5 kilometers. For the first time one of the stages led to Liechtenstein .

The overall winner was the Italian Gino Bartali , who had already won the Tour de Suisse the year before. The tour started in Zurich with 61 drivers, 41 of whom made it to the finish - again in Zurich.
