The 8th Tour de Suisse took place on August 23 and 24, 1941. Because of the Second World War , only three stages were held over a distance of 606.7 kilometers, the shortest Tour de Suisse in history. Except for one Italian driver, only Swiss people were at the start, special ratings were canceled.
The overall winner was the Swiss Josef Wagner . The tour started in Zurich with 44 drivers, 29 of whom finished in Bern . After 606 kilometers, Wagner and Werner Buchwalder were at the same time, which is why a track sprint should decide the victory. Due to rain and falling darkness, the run-off was relocated from the Oerlikon Open Race Track to the Hallenstadion , where Wagner secured the victory.
