The 14th Tour de Suisse took place from June 24th to July 1st, 1950. It was held in eight stages over a distance of 1829 kilometers. The fourth stage was held in two half-stages, one of which was an individual time trial .
The tour started in Zurich with 69 drivers, 47 of whom also crossed the finish line in Zurich on the last day. The average speed of the winner Hugo Koblet was 34.199 km / h.
The tour was characterized by the competition between the two Swiss “K”, Ferdy Kübler and Hugo Koblet. Jean Goldschmit from Luxembourg initially benefited from this rivalry, who was able to pull out a cushion four minutes ahead of Kübler and Koblet in the first four stages. The decision was made on the sixth stage, on which Kübler fell and fell 23 minutes behind and Goldschmitt also lost six minutes. Koblet won the tour.
