The 81st Tour de Suisse ran from June 10, 2017 over nine stages to June 18, 2017 . It is a race of the UCI WorldTour 2017 . It was the 24th of a total of 37 races in this series.
In honor of the Swiss cyclist Ferdy Kübler , who died at the end of 2016 at the age of 97, a new special rating was introduced at the Tour de Suisse: the rider with the most escape kilometers will be named “Le fou pédalant” at the end of the tour.

All UCI WorldTeams were entitled to start . There were also four Professional Continental Teams that received a wildcard from the organizer .
Stage overview
Like the previous two years, the 2017 Tour de Suisse began with a prologue in the canton of Zug , this time in Cham . It ends with a final time trial in Schaffhausen .
