Jonathan Castroviejo Nicolás (born April 27, 1987 in Getxo , Basque Country ) is a Spanish road cyclist .
Career
Castroviejo finished third in the 2005 Spanish championship road race in the junior class. From 2008 to 2009 he drove for the Spanish Continental Team Orbea . In 2009 he won a stage at the Tour du Haut Anjou and the prologue at the Ronde de l'Isard , where he also came second overall. He was also able to win a stage of the Tour de l'Avenir .
Before the 2010 season, he moved to the UCI ProTeam Euskaltel-Euskadi and won the sprint classification on the Tour of Catalonia . With the prologue of the Tour de Romandie 2011 , he won his first UCI ProTour race . He then moved to the Movistar team in 2012 , where he developed into a specialist for longer time trials after winning the shorter prologue time trials . In 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019 he became Spanish champion and 2016 European champion in this discipline. He won the bronze medal at the 2016 World Time Trial Championships .
