Race course

Up to a good 85 kilometers from the finish there was a duo at the front of the race. They were Matteo Dal-Cin (Canada / Team Canada) and Benjamin Perry (Canada / Israel Cycling Academy). After there had been many more attacks from the field, a 15-man group pulled away from the field a good 15 kilometers from the finish. Among others, Tom-Jelte Slagter (Netherlands / Cannondale) and Tony Gallopin (France / Lotto Soudal) were there. On the last kilometers, among others, Gallopin and other riders fell behind and new riders came out of the field such as Ulissi or Bauke Mollema (Netherlands / Trek). In the end, a small group of leaders sprinted. Ulissi won this sprint ahead of Herrada and Slagter.
