The winner of the race was Yves Lampaert from Belgium from Quick-Step Floors, ahead of his team-mate Philippe Gilbert , who was 45 seconds behind. Lampaert was previously represented in a 25-man leading group that separated from the peloton 77 kilometers from the finish. This leading group shrank step by step. In the end, Lampaert placed his attack a good 7 kilometers from the finish line. So he was able to set himself apart from Gilbert, Alexei Lutsenko and Luke Durbridge . The peloton followed just over a minute behind.
