On the first kilometers, a top group consisting of Alex Turrin (Italy / Wilier Triestina), Vincenzo Albanese (Italy / Bardiani), Simone Sterbini (Italy / Bardiani), Flavio dos Santos (Brazil / Funvic), Onur Balkan (Turkey / national team) formed Turkey) and Batuhan Özgur (Turkey / national team Turkey). The outliers had a maximum lead of four minutes over the peloton and were caught again about 35 kilometers. 25 kilometers from the finish there was the only mountain prize (4th category) of the day. Enrico Barbin (Italy / Bardiani) won the mountain prize. The peloton did not allow any further attacks and there was a mass sprint. Some riders crashed into the last corner of the stage, which is why the field was divided into several groups. Sam Bennett (Ireland / Bora) won the sprint ahead of Marco Benfatto (Italy / Androni). Bennett took over the overall lead.
The escape group of the day consisted of Onur Balkan (Turkey / National Team Turkey), Mirco Maestri (Italy / Bardiani) and Murilo Affonso (Brazil / Soul Brasil). The trio was able to gain a maximum lead of four minutes over the field. On the way Maestri won the two mountain prizes and took over the mountain classification from his team-mate Enrico Barbin . Balkan secured the intermediate sprint of the day, a good 90 kilometers from the finish, and then let the field overtake him after falling back. So there was only one duo at the top. The two remaining outliers were set a good 11 kilometers from the finish. Then there was a mass sprint like the day before. This again won the Irish Sam Bennett (Bora-hangrohe) this time before Edward Theuns (Belgium / Trek). With his second stage win, Bennett kept the overall lead.
Up to eleven kilometers from the finish, a three-man leading group with Gregory Daniel (USA / Trek), Thomas Deruette (Belgium / WB Veranclassic) and Feritcan Samli (Turkey / Turkey national team) determined the action. They had a maximum of six minutes ahead. In the remaining kilometers, no driver was able to break away significantly from the field and there was another mass sprint. As in the previous two days, this was won by Sam Bennett (Bora) from Ireland ahead of Edward Theuns (Belgium / Trek). Bennett retained overall lead.
Shortly after the start of the stage, six drivers pulled away , including Feritcan Samli (Turkey / national team Turkey), Davide Ballerini (Italy / Androni) and Ludovic Robeet (Belgium / WB Veranclassic). About 50 kilometers from the finish, Robeet, Samli and Ballerini attacked in the lead and the leading group split into two trios. 40 kilometers from the finish line, all six drivers were overtaken by the leading group. In the final climb to the citadel of Selçuk there was an elimination run. At the end of the climb there was only one group around Diego Ulissi (Italy / UAE Team Emirates) and Gregor Mühlberger (Austria / Bora). Ulissi placed an attack shortly before the finish and won the stage. Jesper Hansen (Denmark / Astana) followed a few seconds behind . Ulissi took over the overall management.
After a few kilometers four drivers pulled away from the field: Jonas Koch (Germany / CCC), Shane Archbold (New Zealand / Bora), Lukas Spengler (Switzerland / WB Veranclassic) and Matteo Spreafico (Italy / Androni). 30 kilometers from the finish, shortly before the last mountain classification of the day, the group was caught up again. Several attacks followed in the last mountain of the day, including by Ilia Koshevoy (Belarus / Wilier Triestina) or Daniel Martinez (Columbia / Wilier Triestina), but this was foiled. Jarlinson Pantano (Columbia / Trek) attacked a good 4 kilometers before the Zeil, but did not get away decisively and was caught again. In the end, around 40 drivers sprinted. This again won the Irish Sam Bennett (Bora) ahead of Ahmet Örken (Turkey / Turkey national team). Diego Ulissi kept the overall lead.
After the start of the stage on the former Formula 1 racetrack in the Istanbul Park Circuit , a quartet of Thomas Deruette (Belgium / WB Veranclassic), Patryk Stosz (Poland / CCC), Paolo Simion (Italy / Bardiani) and Muhammet Atalay (Turkey ) sat down / National team Turkey). They determined what was going on at the front of the race up to about four kilometers from the finish and had a lead of a maximum of two minutes. A good two kilometers you reached a 1.5 kilometer long ascent that was up to seven percent steep. There was a mass fall in the lower part of the slope. Edward Theuns (Belgium / Trek), Sam Bennett (Ireland / Bora) and Matteo Pelucchi (Italy / Bora) attacked the remaining riders in the lead . The trio was able to break up. In the last corner, about 350 yards from the finish, Bennett slipped over the front wheel and fell. Pelucchi was in the front with a small gap to Theuns. This was able to close the gap and drove past. Theuns won the final stage ahead of Pelucchi. Diego Ulissi crossed the finish line in sixth and thus defended the overall lead. He won the Tour of Turkey in 2017 .
