Fausto Masnada (born November 6, 1993 in Bergamo ) is an Italian racing cyclist .

Athletic career

In 2015, Fausto Masnada won the Piccolo Giro di Lombardia as a member of the Colpack team , and the Giro del Medio Brenta the following year . From August 2016 he drove as a stagiaire for the Lampre-Merida team , in 2017 he got a contract with Androni Giocattoli and was third on the Tour of Turkey . In 2018 he won the Tour of Hainan and the mountain classification of the Tour of Slovenia . In the same year he finished third in the overall ranking at the Giro dell'Appennino .

In 2019 Masnada won two stages of the Tour of the Alps and the mountain classification of the Giro di Sicilia , in the overall classification he came third in Sicily and second in the Giro dell'Appennino. In May 2019 he achieved his greatest success to date when he won the sixth stage of the Giro d'Italia after he was able to break away from a 13-man leading group on the last climb of the day together with Valerio Conti the stage had formed.
