Valerio Conti (born March 30, 1993 in Rome ) is an Italian road cyclist . He is considered a mountain specialist.

Career

In 2014 Conti received a contract with the UCI WorldTeam Lampre-Merida , for which he had already driven as a stagiaire the previous year . In his first year there he won the one-day race Gran Premio Beghelli . At the Vuelta a España 2016 he won the hilly 13th stage after breaking out of a top group of twelve. At the end of October 2016, Conti suffered an open fracture of his right forearm from a fall while mountain biking .

During the Giro d'Italia 2019 , Conti wore the overall leader's Maglia Rosa on six stages .
