Przemysław Niemiec (born April 11, 1980 in Oświęcim ) is a Polish cyclist .

Athletic career

Przemysław Niemiec won the overall mountain classification in the 2004 Tour of Poland . He had almost twice as many points as the second Marek Rutkiewicz . In the intermediate sprint classification, he finished fifth. The following year he won the overall ranking of the Tour of Slovenia . He celebrated his greatest success in 2006 when he won the one-day race Giro di Toscana . He currently drives for the Italian team Lampre-Merida . His best result on a Grand Tour was sixth place overall at the Giro d'Italia 2013 . In the following year he won a stage of the Vuelta a España , in 2016 a stage and the mountain classification of the Tour of Turkey.

Honors

In 2014, Niemiec was awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland .
