The 81st La Flèche Wallonne 2017 was a Belgian road bike race in Wallonia . The classic one-day race started in Binche and ended in Huy after 200.5 kilometers and was held on Wednesday , April 19, 2017 . It belonged to the UCI WorldTour 2017 and was the 17th of a total of 37 races in this series. The winner of the race was Alejandro Valverde for the fifth time , who pulled away on the final slope of Mur de Huy .

The women's version of the event was held for the 20th time . The start and finish of the race over 120 kilometers was in Huy . The bike race was part of the UCI Women's WorldTour 2017 . On the penultimate ascent, after an attack by Pole Katarzyna Niewiadoma, a late centrio formed, out of which Anna van der Breggen won the race on the final ascent ahead of her teammate Lizzie Deignan .
