The 22nd EuroEyes Cyclassics 2017 was a German road bike race . The one-day race took place on Sunday , August 20, 2017 . This bike race started and ended in Hamburg with a length of 220.9 km . It was also part of the 2017 UCI WorldTour , where it was the 30th of a total of 38 races in this series. The winner was Elia Viviani from Italy from Team Sky .

Race course

On the way towards Heide / Lower Saxony , Kamil Malecki (Poland / CCC) and Nikolai Trussow (Russia / Gazprom-RusVelo) were able to break away from the peloton after 80 kilometers driven in the pouring rain. Up to 60 kilometers from the finish, in the first and three crossings of the Waseberg in Blankenese , the outliers were caught again. Meanwhile the rain had stopped. A few kilometers after catching up with the duo, Silvan Dillier (Switzerland / BMC), Jonas Koch (Germany / CCC) and Truls Engen Korsæth (Norway / Astana) pulled away from the field. The trio's endeavor was over 15 kilometers from the finish on the last crossing of the Waseberg. Then a 21-man group was able to a. with André Greipel (Germany / Lotto Soudal), Jasha Sütterlin (Germany / Movistar), Sonny Colbrelli (Italy / Bahrain), Edvald Boasson Hagen (Norway / Dimension Data) and Alexander Kristoff (Norway / Katusha). The group was caught up again 5.5 kilometers from the finish and the expected mass sprint took place in Mönckebergstrasse . The Italian Elia Viviani (Sky) won this sprint ahead of the 2012 winner, the French Arnaud Démare (FDJ).
