Future Man is an American parodic science fiction television series that premiered on the Hulu Internet platform on November 14, 2017 . In Germany, the series has been on Prime Video since December 14, 2018 . In April 2019, the series was extended for a third and final season.
The series tells of the adventures of a caretaker and passionate gamer who, together with the two main characters from his last game, is supposed to save mankind from extinction in a real challenge. The trio embarks on a journey into the past in order to save the future. Josh Hutcherson , Eliza Coupé and Derek Wilson play the leading roles . Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's production company Point Gray Pictures , who developed the series Preacher and The Boys , is involved in the production .

Josh Futturman works as a caretaker for a research laboratory that studies sexually transmitted diseases. He still lives with his parents, where he loves to pass the time with the computer game The Biotic Wars . When he finishes the last level of this game one day, Tiger and Wolf suddenly stand in his room, the two main characters from the game, when he is in a compromising situation. They tell him that it is now his turn to save the world.

History of origin
At the start of New York Comic Con in early October 2017, the streaming service Hulu released the first trailer for Future Man .
The 13 episodes of the first season were shown for the first time on the Internet platform Hulu since November 14, 2017 . In Germany, the first season has been on Prime Video since December 14, 2018 . In January 2018, a second season - consisting of 13 episodes - was ordered, which has been broadcast since January 11, 2019. In April 2019, the series was extended by a third and final season of eight episodes.

The series 'first season was rated positively by 82 percent of Rotten Tomatoes ' critics and 89 percent by audiences.
“It's sometimes pubescent, sometimes vulgar, often all together. But it's never stupid, "says Nilz Bokelberg , describing the series on Radio Eins :" For the first time since Back to the Future , time travel scenarios are played out and thought that it is a real pleasure. In such a way that they all make sense in a terrifying way. It's easy to overlook that because there's a Seth Rogen humor about it all, who also co-produced the series.
