Seth Rogen
Seth Aaron Rogen (born April 15, 1982 in Vancouver , British Columbia ) is a Canadian comedian , actor , voice actor , screenwriter , producer and director .
Life
Seth Rogen competed in the Vancouver Amateur Comedy Contest as a teenager . He moved to Los Angeles , where he made his debut as an actor with a supporting role played in the years 1999 to 2000 in the television series Voll besides, full in life . For this role he was nominated for the Young Artist Award as a member of the actor ensemble in 2000 .
For his role in the comedy Jungfrau (40), Male, sucht ... (2005), Rogen was nominated - together with the other actors - in 2006 for the MTV Movie Award . In the comedy The First Time (2006) he took on one of the leading roles alongside Katherine Heigl . For this role he was nominated for the Teen Choice Award in 2007 together with Paul Rudd .
As a screenwriter, Rogen wrote the scripts for several episodes of the 2003 television series Da Ali G Show , for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2005. He also worked on the script for the 2007 comedy Superbad , in which he appeared in one of the major roles. For the action comedy The Green Hornet he wrote the script and took on the lead role. 2012 moderated roe 27th Independent Spirit Award , in 2013 the Comedy Central Roast of James Franco .
Rogen staged the film Das ist das Ende (2013) alongside Evan Goldberg and made his directorial debut. Rogen was also involved in the script and took on one of the leading roles. In 2014, Goldberg and Rogen directed the satire The Interview , which was withdrawn for a short time in December 2014 shortly before the cinema release due to attack threats.
In 2019 he developed the series The Boys together with Eric Kripke and Goldberg .
It is often dubbed into German by Tobias Kluckert .
social commitment
Rogen, together with his wife, actress Lauren Miller , initiated the Hilarity for Charity event , which promotes a more intensive discussion of Alzheimer's disease . On February 26, 2014, he addressed the United States Senate on the subject.
Rogen has been campaigning for cannabis and its full legalization for years, many of his films also deal with the topic of cannabis on a smaller or larger scale. In March 2019, he announced that he would be entering the legal cannabis business in Canada and selling marijuana flowers.
