Daniel Felipe Martínez Poveda (born April 25, 1996 in Bogota ) is a Colombian racing cyclist .

As a junior rider, Martínez was the Pan American champion in 2013 and the Colombian champion in the individual time trial in 2014 .

In the adult sector, Martínez joined the Professional Continental Team Colombia in 2015 . He won the mountain classification of the Route du Sud and was fourth overall and the best young rider on the Tour of Utah , whereupon he switched to the Italian team Wilier Triestina-Southeast and contested his first Grand Tour with the Giro d'Italia 2016 , which he finished in 89th place. In the following year he was seventh in Milano-Torino and fourth overall on the Tour of Turkey .

Martínez received his first contract with a UCI WorldTeam from the 2018 season with EF Education First-Drapac . In his first year there, he finished fourth in the overall standings of the UCI WorldTour race California and finished his first Tour de France in 36th place overall.
