Gregory "Greg" Daniel (born November 8, 1994 in Sylva ) is an American cyclist.

Life

Gregory Daniel began his career as a competitive cyclist in the junior program of the Cannondale Pro Cycling Team under Jonathan Vaughters . When he came in the U23 class, he switched to Bontrager Cycling Team of Axel Merckx .

As a junior rider, Daniel was seen as a promising all-rounder, mainly due to his strong performances in the Tour du Pays de Vaud and the Tour de l'Abitibi , in which he finished third. Under Merckx, however, he developed into a combative driver who is suitable for breakaway attempts. In 2014, after the fourth stage of the Tour of California , in which he took second place, he won the title of “most combative driver”. Daniel describes this placement in an interview in January 2016 as his “breakthrough”, as it showed him that he could also hold his own against international competition. He hopes that he will finally have a big win this year.

In 2011, Gregory Daniel became the American team pursuit champion , and the following year junior champion in the individual time trial . In 2016 he won the national title in the elite road race . In 2018 he won the Bob Cook Memorial Mount Evans Hill Climb .
