Chris Wherry

Chris Wherry (born July 18, 1973 ) is a retired American cyclist .

Chris Wherry began his career in 1998 with the Saturn cycling team . After three years he moved to Mercury . In 2003 he drove for Navigators for a year before joining Health Net-Maxxis . In his second season there, he won the prologue at the Redlands Bicycle Classic and won the overall standings. In June, Wherry won the Wachovia USPRO Championship and became the American road cycling champion. In the overall ranking of the UCI America Tour 2005 , he took third place thanks to his good results. From 2006, Wherry drove for the Continental Team Toyota-United and ended his active career at Hotel San Jose in 2009.
