Eduard Prades (born August 9, 1987 in Tarragona ) is a Spanish cyclist .

Career

Eduard Prades won several races of the Copa de España between 2010 and 2012 , which he won overall in 2012. In 2013 he went to OFM-Quinta da Lixa . In the same year he won the overall standings and a stage win at Troféu Joaquim Agostinho . In 2014 there was another stage win at the Portuguese Volta ao Alentejo .

In 2015, Prades moved to Caja Rural-Seguros RGA . He immediately won a stage of the Tour of Portugal and the Italian one-day race Coppa Sabatini . In 2016 he won the Philadelphia International Cycling Classic in the USA and a stage at the Volta Cova da Beira . He also contested the Vuelta a España 2016 , his first Grand Tour . He finished her at number 127.

In 2018 Prades drove for Euskadi Basque Country-Murias . He won the overall classification of the Tour of Norway and the WorldTour race Tour of Turkey . He was also overall runner-up in the Tour de Yorkshire and the Tour of Luxembourg .

Prades switched to the Movistar team for the 2019 season . He won a stage of the Tour La Provence and the overall ranking of the Tour of Aragon .

In the finish line of the first stage of the Tour of Poland on August 5, 2020 in Katowice , the Dutchman Dylan Groenewegen pushed his compatriot Fabio Jakobsen into the barriers, whereupon he fell and suffered life-threatening injuries; as a result, there was a mass fall in which Eduard Prades suffered a fractured vertebra.
