Gallagher Ridge is a mountain ridge in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Asgard Range , it extends from Mount Newall in a northeastern direction into the lower Wright Valley east of the Decker Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1997 after Charles Gallagher (1946-1997), Command Master Chief of the support units of the United States Navy in Antarctica , who was active in four Antarctic summer campaigns at McMurdo Station between 1991 and 1995 . He died on May 1, 1997 in his role as accommodation coordinator for Antarctic Support Associates (ASA) as a result of illness on this ward.
