Mount Newall is a 1930 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises on the northeastern foothills of the Asgard Range .
He was discovered by participants in the Discovery Expedition (1901-1904). These named the mountain after the British astrophysicist Hugh Frank Newall (1857-1944) of the University of Cambridge , who helped raise funds for the provision of the ship Morning to rescue the expedition trapped in the vicinity of the base camp by the ice.
