Maxim Iglinski (born April 18, 1981 in Zelinograd ) is a former Kazakh cyclist .
Athletic career
In 2002 and 2004 Maxim Iglinski won the Dominican Tour Vuelta a la Independencia Nacional . In 2005 he received his first elite contract with Domina Vacanze . Also in 2005 - the first start of seven - he took part in the Tour de France and finished fourth in the junior ranking, ahead of last year's winner in this category, Vladimir Karpez . In the Germany Tour 2005 he won the stage that ended in Singen. In 2005 he became Kazakh champion in the individual time trial , and in the road race the following year. In 2007 he also won a stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré .
After Iglinski started for Team Milram in 2006 , he switched to the newly founded Team Astana for the 2007 season . In spring 2010 he won the one-day race Montepaschi Strade Bianche - Eroica Toscana . In 2008 he decided a stage of the Tour de Romandie for himself. In April 2012, he won the classic Liège – Bastogne – Liège , after he was able to break away from Vincenzo Nibali one kilometer from the finish . He participated in the Tour de France 2014 as an assistant to the eventual winner Nibali. the following year he won a stage of the Tour of Belgium , the team time trial of the Vuelta a España and the Tour of Almaty with the Astana team .
In 2004 and 2008 Iglinski started in the road race of the Olympic Games, but could not finish the race both times.
In October 2014, Iglinski was suspended because of a positive EPO sample from August 2014, after his brother Valentin Iglinski had already tested positive in September 2014 . He was banned for two years and did not return to cycling.
