Willy Bocklant (also Willy Bocklandt ) (born January 26, 1941 in Bellegem , † June 6, 1985 in Mouscron ) was a Belgian cyclist .

Willy Bocklant was the son of cyclist Robert Bocklant, who raced in the 1940s. He himself began his athletic career as a competitive athlete in the late 1950s. In 1960 he won two stages as well as the overall classification of the Triptyque Ardennaise and the Circuit Franco-Belge , and the following year the GP Stan Ockers .

In 1962 Bocklant became a professional. The following year he decided the Tour de Romandie for himself and again the GP Stan Ockers . In 1964 he won the Tour of Piedmont and Liège – Bastogne – Liège and in 1965 the Grand Prix d'Isbergues, the Brabant Arrow , Brussels – Ingooigem and one stage each from Paris – Nice and the Tour de Romandie . In 1966 he suffered a serious fall, after which he could no longer build on his previous form. In 1967 he was still the winner at E3 Harelbeke .

Bocklant competed in the Tour de France three times - in 1963 , 1964 and 1965 - but was never able to finish it.

After retiring from cycling, Willy Bocklant opened a car wash, stopped doing sports and gained around 30 kilograms within two years. In 1985 he died of a heart attack at the age of 44.
