Artyom Sakharov , also Artyom Zakharov , (born October 27, 1991 in Petropavl ) is a Kazakh racing cyclist who is active on track and road .

Athletic career

At the Asian Cycling Championships in 2012 , Artyom Sakharov won the bronze medal in the team pursuit together with Sergei Kusin , Alexei Ljalko and Dias Omirzakov . The following year he finished third in the Omnium at the track cycling World Cup in Aguascalientes , as well as at the third round of the 2015/16 World Cup in Hong Kong . At the UCI Track World Championships in London in 2016 , he was tenth in the Omnium and vice-Asian champion in this discipline. He also finished fifth in the national road individual time trial championship .

In the same year Sakharov was nominated for the start in the Omnium at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro ; he was tenth. In 2017 he became the Kazakh road racing champion.
