Robert Gaineev , also Robert Gaineyev (born June 28, 1994 in Qysylorda ) is a Kazakh cyclist.

Athletic career

In 2012 Robert Gainejew won the bronze medal in scratch at the Junior World Championships in Invercargill . He was the first Kazakh since 1990 to win a medal at the Junior World Championships. At the Junior Asian Championships in the individual time trial on the road , he came third.

At the Asian Championships in 2016 Gaineev won two medals, a silver one in the scratch and a bronze one together with Nikita Panasenko in the two-man team . In 2015 and 2016, he was also the Kazakh team pursuit champion . The following year he was third in the scratch at the Asian Championships . In 2019 he won bronze again at the Asian Championships, this time in the team pursuit. In the same year he became national champion in this discipline for the third time.
