Andrei Misurow (born March 16, 1973 in Saran , Karagandy Region ) is a former Kazakh cyclist . He is a nine-time Kazakh national champion, including three times in the road race and six times in the individual time trial . Three times he was Asian champion in the individual time trial and once Asian game winner in the team time trial . He also won the overall ranking of the UCI Asia Tour racing series in 2005 .

Career

Andrei Misurow won his first international competition in 1997 with the overall classification of the Azerbaijan Tour stage race . In 1999 he rode for the first time for an international cycling team , the Belgian team Collstrop-De Federale Verzekeringen, and that year won his first title at Asian championships in the individual time trial and a little later became Kazakh time trial champion for the first time.

The following year he moved to the Deutsche Telekom team . In two years his only success was victory in the road race of the Kazakh championship. In 2002 he drove for Mercatone Uno , where he only stayed for a year. For this team he contested his first of four Grand Tours, the Giro d'Italia, and finished the tour in 37th place.

In 2004 and 2005, Misurow drove for MBK-Oktos , was again Kazakh road champion in 2004 and shortly afterwards won the seventh stage of the Tour of Qinghai Lake . From 2005 Misurow moved to the Continental Team Capec . After several victories in international competitions, he was able to win the overall ranking of the UCI Asia Tour 2005 before he was able to win the title of Asian champion in the individual time trial for the second time and also the gold medal in the team time trial of the Asian Games in the 2006 season .

In the following two years he was under contract with Pro Team Astana and competed twice in the Giro d'Italia . In 2009 and 2010 Misurow then started for the Iranian Tabriz Petrochemical Team , for which he won numerous other international races in Asia in addition to two other national time trial titles and his third Asian championship. In May 2011 Misurow returned to the Pro Team Astana, secured the Kazakh championship title in road racing and drove, among other things, the Tour of Austria , which he finished in tenth, and the Vuelta a España .

In 2012, the Kazakh first signed a contract with the Taiwanese RTS Racing Team at the end of April , before moving on to Amore e Vita again at the end of June . In the 2013 season, Misurow drives at Torku Şekerspor and once again secured the title of Kazakh time trial champion. In his last year in international cycling he rode for the RTS-Santic Racing Team .
