Joseph Briar

Joseph Bruyère (born October 5, 1948 in Maastricht , Netherlands ) is a former Belgian cyclist .

Career

Joseph Bruyère was a professional from 1970 to 1980. In addition to winning a stage of the Tour de France in 1972 , his career also featured victories at the Omloop Het Volk 1974, 1975, 1980 and the classic Liège – Bastogne – Liège in 1976 (ahead of Freddy Maertens and Frans Verbeeck ) and 1978 (before Dietrich Thurau and Francesco Moser ).

Bruyère started six times in the Tour de France. In 1974 he wore the yellow jersey for four days and when he last participated in 1978 , which he finished in fourth place overall , he wore the yellow jersey for eight days.
