Molteni was a 1958-1976 active Italian pro - cycling team .

history

The cycling team was founded by Pietro Molteni, whose son, the former professional cyclist Ambrogio Molteni, was also involved in the management. However, the first team leader was Renato Molteni in 1958. After the former Italian road champion Giorgio Albani ended his active career at Molteni in 1959, he returned two years later as sports director. When Eddy Merckx joined the team in late 1970, he brought along his sporting director, Guillaume Driessens . The shirt sponsor was the family-owned sausage processing company based in Arcore from start to finish .

The most famous drivers of the team included Rudi Altig , Peter Post , Franco Balmamion , Michele Dancelli , Gianni Motta , Marino Basso , Eddy Merckx , Herman Van Springel , Roger Swerts and Joseph Bruyère .
