Eros Capecchi (born June 13, 1986 in Castiglione del Lago ) is an Italian cyclist .
Career
Eros Capecchi has been a competitive cyclist since 2003. As a junior he won the Italian road championship and the Trofeo Buffoni in 2004 . At the road cycling world championships in Verona , he narrowly missed a medal with fourth place. In 2006 and 2007 Capecchi was a professional with the Italian ProTour team Liquigas-Bianchi . At the Tour Down Under at the beginning of the season he was twelfth in the overall ranking and third in the junior ranking. He later finished ninth overall in the Tour of Luxembourg .
In 2008 Capecchi won the Euskal Bizikleta , and he also competed in the Giro d'Italia for the first time . In 2011 he won a stage of this country tour. In 2012 he won the Grand Prix di Lugano . For the 2019 season, until shortly before Christmas 2018, it was pending as to whether he would receive another contract with Team Deceuninck Quick-Step . Capecchi was calm: he comes from a farming family and also works in the family business.
Up to and including 2018, Eros Capecchi took part in a total of 16 Grand Tours . His best placement was 21st place at the Vuelta a España 2011 .
