Thomas Rohrgger (born December 23, 1982 in Innsbruck ) is a former Austrian cyclist .

Life

Rohrgger became a professional in 2006 with the Elk Haus-Simplon cycling team for which he won the Tour of Austria in 2008 . He had his first contract with a UCI ProTeam in 2009 with Milram . From 2011 on, he drove for the Luxembourg RadioShack Leopard team . After he no longer received a new contract with this team, he ended his cycling career at the end of the 2013 season in order to complete his business law studies at the University of Innsbruck . He contested a total of seven Grand Tours , of which he finished four, including the Giro d'Italia 2009 , in which he achieved his best Grand Tour placement as 25th.

After his career as a racing cyclist, Rohrgger worked as a technical delegate at the Union Cycliste Internationale , sports expert at ORF and in the legal system.
