Dietmar Hauer

Dietmar "Didi" Hauer (born March 12, 1968 in Ybbs an der Donau ) is a former Austrian cyclist . He was a professional with the Belgian Tulip team. When he first took part in the Tour of Austria in 1987, he finished tenth. In the same year he also took part in the road cycling world championship in Villach . He achieved his greatest successes in 1988 and 1990, when he won the Tour of Austria. Hauer is one of the most successful Austrian cyclists and is known as the “ Glockner König”.

After the end of his career in 1994 he switched to the HTL Klagenfurt , where he teaches mechanics, machine elements, construction exercises, turning and model making .

Dietmar Hauer finished the Ironman in Klagenfurt in 2006 in 69th place.
