Riccardo Zoidl (born April 8, 1988 in Linz ) is an Austrian cyclist .
Career
Riccardo Zoidl started his career in 2007 with the Austrian Continental Team RC ARBÖ Resch & Frisch Gourmetfein Wels . In 2009 he took part in the U23 road race of the world championship, which he could not finish. In the 2010 season, Zoidl was seventh overall in the Tour de Berlin and ninth in the Tour of Thuringia . In 2011 he won the Giro di Festina Schwanenstadt and the Tobago Cycling Classic , as well as the team time trial and another stage on the Sibiu Cycling Tour . He also finished second in the road race of the Austrian championship behind the winner Matthias Krizek .
In 2012, Zoidl won the Austrian championship title in the individual time trial and won the overall ranking of the Tchibo Top Bike League . At the 2012 World Cup in the Dutch province of Limburg , he achieved 14th place overall in the individual time trial, which was also the best performance of an Austrian at a world championship in this special discipline.
In 2013 he was able to win the international races Circuit des Ardennes and Tour de Bretagne , he was also Austrian champion in road racing and on the mountain. He also won the top Tour of Austria and the Tour of Austria . Thereupon he was the first Austrian to lead the ranking of the UCI Europe Tour 2013 , which he finally won.
In 2014 he moved to the US UCI ProTeam Trek Factory Racing and contested his first Grand Tour with the Giro d'Italia 2014 , which he finished in 40th overall. Then he was again Austrian champion in road racing.
After two years with the Continental Team Felbermayr Simplon Wels , Zoidl received a contract with the CCC Team for the 2019 season and so returned to the UCI WorldTour for a year .
