Gerrit Glomser (born April 1, 1975 in Salzburg ) is a former Austrian cyclist .

Athletic career

Gerrit Glommer's first club, still as a young driver, was the RC ARBÖ Wüstenrot Salzburg . He made a name for himself internationally when he became the Austrian U23 road champion and won the bronze medal in this class at the UCI road world championships and European championships. In 1998 he received his first professional contract in Italy with Scrigno-Gaerne . In 2001 he moved to Switzerland to the Post Swiss Team , and in 2002 he finally joined a GS1 team for the Italian Saeco racing team .

In 2002 and 2003 Gerrit Glomser was able to win the Tour of Austria and in 2005, after moving to ProTeam Lampre-Caffita , he became Austrian State Champion. From 2006 he drove for the Austrian Professional Continental Team Volksbank . During the Tour of Austria in 2008 , the all-rounder on the Großglockner became Glockner King for the first time in his career and with a new record ascent time of 47:18 minutes, he beat Christian Pfannberger's record set last year .
