Roman Humenberger

Roman Humenberger (born January 26, 1945 in Rohrbach ) is a former Austrian cyclist .

Athletic career

In 1965 he appeared for the first time with second place at the Austrian state championships in cross-country racing . Two years later he became the title holder in this discipline of cycling . Between 1968 and 1974 he won the team time trial title four times . In 1967 he won the Uniqua Classic race (the earlier stage race Vienna-Rabenstein-Gresten-Vienna ) as well as the Burgenland Tour and competed in the UCI Road World Championships in individual races and team time trials. He also won the Burgenland Tour the following year. He was able to repeat his success in the Uniqua Classic race in 1971 and 1976. In 1971 he won the Austrian Tour of Austria ahead of Rudolf Mitteregger , and was able to place third twice (1975 and 1976 behind the winner Wolfgang Steinmayr ). He competed a total of thirteen times on the domestic tour of the country, won two stages and retired five times. Humenberger was a participant in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich , where he was classified as 14th in the street race . In 1976 he took part again in the Summer Games in Montreal and was there 21st in the street race. In the team time trial he was tenth with his team in 1972 and 15th in 1976. He started for the record-breaking Briko team.

Professional

After his career, Humenberger worked as a gilder in Innsbruck .
