Richard Schmied is a former Austrian cyclist .

In 1992 Richard Schmied became Austrian road champion in road racing. In 1994 he won the renowned Austrian street angel cycling day . In the same year he won another third place at the national road championships.

Richard Schmied's brother Kurt was also a successful cyclist.
