Patrick Konrad (born October 13, 1991 in Mödling ) is an Austrian cyclist and two-time Austrian champion in the single pursuit (2012, 2014).

Athletic career

Patrick Konrad became Austrian champion in the single pursuit in 2012 and was able to repeat this success in 2014. He finished the Tour de l'Avenir in 2013 in third place and won the Tour of Upper Austria in 2014 . In the same year he finished fourth in the overall ranking of the Tour of Austria .

For the 2015 season he switched to the Professional Continental Team and later the UCI WorldTeam Bora-Argon 18 . For this team, he finished fifth in the overall rankings of the Tour of Denmark 2015 of the Giro del Trentino 2016 and seventh place in the Tour of the Basque Country in 2017 and thus his first place in a UCI World Tour race. He also contested his first Grand Tour with the Tour de France 2016 and finished the race in 65th place overall.

After Konrad finished tenth overall at the 2017 Giro d'Italia , he finished seventh in the same race in 2018 and achieved his first Grand Tour finish in the top ten. On the subsequent Tour of Poland he won the mountain classification by attempting to escape on the last stage .

At the UCI Road World Championships 2018 in Innsbruck , the 26-year-old finished eighth in the team time trial with the Bora-hansgrohe team.
