Werner Riebenbauer
Werner Riebenbauer (born July 7, 1974 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian professional cyclist.
Career
Riebenbauer has been one of the best road cyclists in the country since the early 2000s . The sprint specialist got his first professional contract with the Nürnberger team and moved to Denmark in 2003 to the facta team and in 2006 to the Volksbank-Vorarlberg team . From 2008 he drove in the Continental Team RC Arbö Resch & Frisch Gourmetfein Wels .
At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney , Riebenbauer and Roland Garber finished fifth in the two-man team . In the same year he became Austrian national road racing champion .
In November 2012, Riebenbauer announced his withdrawal from professional sport. In the meantime he worked in the sales of the bicycle shop in Vienna that Bernhard Kohl opened in 2010. His nephew is the racing cyclist Matthias Riebenbauer .
