RSG Nuremberg
The Rennsportgemeinschaft Nürnberg e. V. (RSG Nürnberg) is a traditional German cycling club. Between 1996 and 2002, the club maintained a professional team , RSG Nürnberg Profiradteam GmbH , which had GSII status and took part in cycling races as Team Nürnberger (until 2001) and Team Nürnberger Versicherung (2002).
history
The RSG Nürnberg was founded on December 19, 1972 as a competitive racing association of the RC 1950 Erlangen and the Verein Sportplatz Nürnberg 1903 . Later renaming to RSG Paintco Franken (1973), RSG Franken Katzwang (1975) and RSG Hercules Nürnberg (1980) followed, before the team ran again as RSG Nürnberg in 1990. The association disbanded at the end of 2010.
The riders of the RSG Nürnberg have achieved around 800 victories and 32 German championship titles. The most famous RSG athletes included Friedrich von Loeffelholz , Dieter Burkhardt , Dieter Flögel , Thomas Freienstein , Werner Stauff , Hans Neumayer , Jens Zemke , Stephan Gottschling , Steffen Rein , Gerd Audehm , Bert Dietz , Robert Förster , Alexander Kastenhuber , Andreas Klier , Jens Lehmann , Thomas Liese , Harald Morscher , Christian Pfannberger , Werner Riebenbauer . Udo Sprenger , Uwe Raab and Wolfgang Lötzsch worked in the RSG environment .
