Bernhard of Saxe-Lauenburg

Bernhard von Sachsen-Lauenburg († December 1523 ) was provost of the cathedral in Cologne and Münster .

Life

Bernhard von Sachsen-Lauenburg was the son of Duke Johann V von Sachsen-Lauenburg and Dorothea Margravine of Brandenburg , a daughter of Friedrich II. His brother was the Münster bishop Erich von Sachsen-Lauenburg .

It was named on May 18, 1486 by the Cologne cathedral scholaster Salentin von Isenburg for a Cologne cathedral preparatory . Since 1503 he was the cathedral capitular . From 1511 to 1523 he was provost there.

After the death of Philipp von Hoerde in 1510 he also became provost of the cathedral in Münster . Apparently he was also rector of the parish church in Senden . He lived mainly in Cologne because of the residence obligation.
