Daniel Carlberg

Daniel Carlberg (* 1974 in Kreuztal ) is a German conductor.

Life

Daniel Carlberg studied piano and violin at the Hanover University of Music and Drama from 1993 to 1997 and during this time was artistic director and conductor of the Kassel Youth Symphony Orchestra.

1997 - 2001 he studied conducting with Leopold Hager at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna . He also took master classes a. a. with Fabio Luisi , Kurt Sanderling , Peter Gülke , Jorma Panula and Seiji Ozawa . In the summer of 1999 he assisted at the Rheinsberg Castle Chamber Opera Festival, and in the summer of 2000 he received a scholarship from the Bayreuth Festival . In 2003 he was awarded the Kassel Art Prize.

After permanent engagements at the Meiningen State Theater as director of studies and assistant to Kirill Petrenko , at the Landestheater Linz as répétiteur and assistant to Dennis Russell Davies and as second conductor at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe , he was first conductor and deputy general director at the Anhaltisches Theater from the 2009/10 season Dessau and has been working in the same position at Theater Kiel since January 2016 .

Daniel Carlberg was a member of the list of artists “Maestros of Tomorrow” of the Conductor Forum of the German Music Council .

He gave concerts and opera performances a. a. with the Dohnányi Orchestra Budapest, the Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna , the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra , the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn , the Orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin , the Badische Staatskapelle Karlsruhe and the Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart .
