Edy Schütz (born May 15, 1941 in Tetingen , CdZ area Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourg road cyclist .
Until winning the queen stage of the Tour de France in 2006 to L'Alpe d'Huez by Fränk Schleck was the last contactor Luxembourg cyclist of one stage had won the Tour de France (1966 in Chamonix ). Schütz won his first national title in the 1965 road race of the Independents . In 1967 he was the master of professional drivers ahead of his long-term competitor Johny Schleck . He was able to defend the title until 1971, and in 1970 and 1971 he was the only starter for professional drivers in the Grand Duchy and competed in the race with the amateurs .
Today Edy Schütz runs a bicycle shop in Dudelange ( Luxembourg ). 2010 was the 16th edition of the "La Randonnée Edy Schütz" race, a race for everyone, in which the namesake participates and the proceeds of which are donated to good causes.
