Claude Michely

Claude Michely (born October 8, 1959 in Esch-sur-Alzette ) is a former Luxembourg cyclist .

Like his father, he started for the Union Cycliste Esch club . His first significant success was winning the national championship of the Débutants class in 1976. Two years later he also won the junior title. Claude Michely was the most successful Luxembourg cyclocross rider from the late 1970s to the 1990s. He was Luxembourg champion in this discipline 13 times alone. In 1984 and 1985 he was also national road racing champion . In 1985 he took third place at the world championships in cyclo-cross races in Munich . In the same year he was elected Luxembourg athlete of the year .

Claude Michely is the father of the cyclist Kim Michely and the son of Johnny Michely , who was twice Luxembourgish cyclocross champion. His younger son Max is also a successful cyclist.
