Joseph Bintener (born October 1, 1917 in Letzeburg ; † January 13, 1998 ibid) was a Luxembourg cyclist.
Athletic career
In 1937 Joseph Bintener started cycling as a debutante with the Club Cycliste Hollerich . In 1939 he won the national junior title and was third on the Tour of Luxembourg in this category. Then he switched to the class of the independents ( Independants ), in which he could win several races on the road and in cyclo-cross races. In 1945 he became a professional driver for the French team Rochet . Immediately he became the Luxembourg road racing champion , then runner-up a year later. He took part in major tours twice: in 1946 in the Tour de Suisse (13th in the final ranking) and in the Tour of Luxembourg in 1946 he was 30th. At the UCI Road World Championships in Zurich in 1946 , he finished seventh in the professional race .
Professional
In 1947 he ended his sporting career and then worked as a tiler.
