Pascal Triebel
Pascal Triebel (born June 9, 1966 in Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourg cyclocross and road cyclist .
Career
Pascal Triebel became the Luxembourg champion in the elite class road race in 1989. Two years later, he became the national amateur champion. He started several times for Luxembourg at the UCI Road World Championships, both in individual races and in team time trials . In the 1995 season he won the one-day race Memorial Philippe Van Coningsloo and in 2001 he was successful at the Théo Mulheims Grand Prix. In 2005 Triebel was first at the Faber Grand Prix and won the silver medal in the time trial at the Games of the Small States of Europe . He also finished second in the time trial at the national championship, making him the first driver without a professional contract. The next year he defended his amateur time trial title and in 2008 he won it again.
In 1994 Triebel first became Luxembourg champion in cyclocross. He won this title every year until 2002, with the exception of 1999. He also won a further 14 cross races in Luxembourg by 2005.
At the Luxembourg Championship in 1998 Triebel was outclassed because of a positive doping control.
On November 24, 2016, the ALAD issued a four-year doping ban against Triebel. He smuggled his way past a doping control at a MTB race in Orschholz, where he came in 7th. When Triebel was asked to go into control, he gave a wrong name and left.
