Laurent Didier (born July 19, 1984 in Dippach ) is a Luxembourg cyclist .
Career
Laurent Didier began his cycling career in 1995 with the UC Dippach club, to which his father had already belonged. He started as a professional in 2006 with the German Continental Team Regiostrom-Senges . In the one-day race around Düren , he finished fifth behind his teammate Elnathan Heizmann . He then led in the U23 classification of the International German Championship and was allowed to wear the Accenture leadership jersey at the next race. At the road cycling world championships in Salzburg , he started in the U23 road race and finished 98th.
Didier drove as a trainee for the Danish team CSC-Saxo Bank from October 2008 to the beginning of February 2009 , after which he moved to the Danish team Designa Køkken . That year he finished second at the Luxembourg road championships behind Andy Schleck and also runner-up in the individual time trial behind Kim Kirchen . In 2010 he switched back to the Saxo Bank team and competed in the 2010 Giro d'Italia for this team . Didier drove for the Radioshack-Nissan team in 2012 and was also champion on the road in Luxembourg in 2012, ahead of Ben Gastauer and Fränk Schleck . In 2013 he won the mountain classification of the Tour du Haut-Var . The following year he was Luxembourg time trial champion.

Laurent Didier is the son of Tour de France participant Lucien Didier and the grandson of Bim Diederich , who wore the yellow jersey for three days at the 1951 Tour de France .
