Ben Gastauer (born November 14, 1987 in Dudelange ) is a Luxembourgish cyclist .

Athletic career

Ben Gastauer began his career at the Le Pedale 07 Schifflange club .

In 2005 Gastauer was the first time Luxembourg champion in the individual time trial , still in the junior class. The following year he won the road race in the U23 class and defended this title in 2007. In 2008 he became national U23 time trial champion and in 2012 elite champion in this discipline. In 2009 he got a contract with Ag2r and won the Tour des Pays de Savoie that same year . In 2015 he won the overall standings and one stage of the Tour du Haut-Var .

In 2011 Gastauer started for the first time in a major tour of the country , the Giro d'Italia . Up to and including 2019 he made a total of twelve large tours. His best placement was 21st place in the 2014 Tour de France .
