Willy Kemp (born December 28, 1925 in Kopstal ) is a former Luxembourg cyclist and national cycling champion .

He started cycling relatively late, only in May 1945 and he immediately won his first race a month later in the beginner's class. As an amateur, he was a member of Club Cycliste Hollerich .

Willy Kemp comes from a well-to-do family and studied economics. His victory at the 1947 student world championships in road racing convinced his parents, and he was allowed to become a professional cyclist. In 1947 he won the Grand Prix François Faber , in 1949 he was Luxembourg road champion, in 1951 and 1955 he won the silver medal in the championships.

From 1948 to 1957, Kemp competed in the Tour de France ten times a year , as did his compatriot Marcel Ernzer as a valuable helper for the Luxembourg Tour de France winner from 1958, Charly Gaul . At the Tour de France 1955 he won the fourth stage. In 1950 he reached his best place in the overall ranking with 21st place. Kemp also competed in cyclo-cross races . In 1953 his association nominated him for the UCI World Championships, where he was 19th. As a track driver, he won the silver medal behind Jean Majerus II in the single pursuit at the national championships in 1947.
